SERVICES OFFERED BY NEW BEGINNINGS

Information & Support: for victims/survivors & their family/friends. This includes all forms of abuse – physical, emotional, verbal, financial, stalking, harassment, etc. Informational dvds, books and brochures are available for community use at the New Beginnings office, located upstairs in the Quileute Health Clinic (560 Quileute Heights).

Crisis Intervention & Support: is available by contacting the victim advocate at 360.374.5110.

Individual Advocacy Based Counseling: in person or over the telephone. Victims/Survivors and their family and friends can reach the victim advocate at (360) 374.5110 or at the New Beginnings office upstairs in the Quileute Health Clinic (560 Quileute Heights).

Medical Advocacy: hospital accompaniment, assistance in filing for crime victims compensation, etc

Financial Advocacy: information about community resources, assistance with job searches, budgeting, resumes, etc.

Legal Advocacy: court accompaniment, police response accompaniment, assistance in filing for protection orders, etc. New Beginnings has limited funds to provide access to a licensed attorney to victims/survivors for civil legal issues such as dissolutions, parenting plans, protection orders, child support enforcement, etc. Contact us for additional information on services and eligibility requirements.

Information and Referrals: to Community Services. New Beginnings provides assistance with identifying and accessing local services to meet the needs of victims/survivors and their family/friends.

Womens’ Talking Circle: held at the Quileute Tribal Court every Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00. The purpose of WTC is to provide support to victims/survivors as well as family and friends of victims/survivors in the form of fellowship and fun. We eat lunch together (food provided), work on arts and crafts, play games, talk, laugh and sometimes cry but always support each other.

Transitional Housing Assistance, Relocation Assistance and Safehouse/Shelter Access: we have limited funds to provide assistance to victims/survivors in accessing housing and will help to identify resources & arrange for transportation. The New Beginnings program does not have a shelter/safehouse but is able to provide assistance with accessing one. Domestic Violence Perpetrator Treatment: New Beginnings provides funding for Native Americans living on the Quileute Reservation and for Quileutes living in Clallam or Jefferson counties to undergo domestic violence perpetrator evaluation and treatment.
